Death of Dr Taubenhaus Plant Pathologist

Dr J J Taubenhaus aged 53 Texas A and M College plant pathologist died after an extended illness Monday December 13 in Moulton. He studied garlic plant diseases and was well known here. Survived by his widow and two children.

Christmas Program At Legion Hall Presented By Local Legion

Geier Merrem Post No 392 American Legion and the Auxiliary held their annual Christmas program at the Legion Hall Monday night. Santa Claus attended and handed out fruit and sweets to children. John Havlik and his orchestra supplied the music.

The eldest son of Mr and Mrs Joe Mikula of Port Lavaca died and was laid to rest Friday afternoon. Mrs Mikula is the former Gladys Meyer of Port Lavaca and a niece to Dr and Mrs Koape of this place. The Eagle records tears of grief with the broken hearted parents.

Fire destroys warehouse in Waelder week end loss

Fire of undetermined origin destroyed a Waelder warehouse and its contents including feed and corn shelter. Owned by Elvis Holloway the loss was about $1000 with some insurance reported.

Young Boy Buried Here Last Saturday

Arthur Beyer seven years and one month old son of Mr and Mrs John Beyer of Dickson School died Friday December 17 after an illness of ten hours. Funeral from the parental home Saturday morning followed by services at St Josephs Catholic Church with burial in Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Rev Joseph Kopp officiating. He is survived by his parents and a three month old brother Emil. The Eagle extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Former Fire Chief Buried at Hallettsville

Noble Moreland aged 61 long time Hallettsville Fire Department chief died in Galveston. He supervised civic work and edited the Hallettsville Herald. Survivors include his widow and son John of Houston and three sisters in Houston Liberty Hill and Canyon.
