At a meeting in the American Legion Hall Moulton business leaders accepted the National Recovery Act blanket code. The group agreed to 8 to 6 daily hours 8 to 8 on Saturdays and no employment for under 16. older teens limited to 3 hours. The town pledged support, displaying the NRA sign and backing New Deal aims to boost employment and wages.
The fiftieth anniversary celebration of Oak Grove School, postponed from last Sunday due to rain and bad roads, will be held on Sunday August 6. The public is invited to attend.
A large crowd gathered on the Luther Hall lawn in Moulton last Thursday for an ice cream social sponsored by the Moulton Lutheran Ladies' Aid Society. Receipts topped $30 as attendees enjoyed an evening of treats and fellowship.
Petition signers back a special election on August 26 to repeal Gonzales County local option law and the Eighteenth Amendment. Officials say repeal is assured for the county though Gonzales city may remain dry unless another election is held. Gonzales voted for an earlier county ban on liquor.
The Highway 95 Association was organized in Taylor on Thursday July 28 to plan a straight line Dallas to the coast highway via Route 95. O F Knape of Moulton was named to the executive committee. The committee will meet the State Highway Commission in Austin at an arranged date.
The Eagle announces a county wide meeting at the Hallettsville courthouse Friday August 4 at 8 PM to discuss an important relief measure. Businessmen from Moulton and organization representatives are urged to attend.
James E. Ferguson former Texas governor will campaign against United States Senator Morris Sheppard in the prohibition repeal drive. He supports repealing the 18th amendment and legalizing 3.2 beer in Texas and proposes issuing 20 million dollars in bonds to supplement federal relief funds.
Preparations are underway for an anti prohibition rally to be held in Yoakum on Tuesday August 15. Prominent speakers will address the gathering.

Rehmet and family of San Antonio visited the Arnim home.
Miss Ethel Stella Bevan returned Sunday from Floresville where she visited relatives and friends.
F. J. Kubenka Louis J. Kubicek and Ed Kolar attended a ginners meeting in Weimar Monday night. Mr and Mrs William Hillmer have returned from a several weeks visit to Roscoe Winters and San Antonio.
Miss Winnie Knape left for San Antonio Friday to spend several days with her sisters before resuming work at San Marcos. Mrs. A. S. Greive and daughter Mardi Jeanne and Miss Julia Rehmet of San Antonio visited relatives here Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Leona Merrem, Mrs. Charles Lucke and Mrs. Rudie Mueller were in Yoakum last Friday visiting Mr. and Mrs. William Woehler Jr.
Mr and Mrs Edwin E Peter of New York visited several days last week with Mr and Mrs J T Jaeggli. Mr Peterson is noted as a brother to Mrs Jaeggi.
The Texas State Board of Education fixed the 1933-34 scholastic apportionment at 16 dollars per capita based on 1,570,365 students. The total matches the current term, with six dollars of the current allotment still unpaid though most is expected to be liquidated before September 1.
Mrs Erna Kotzebue hosted the regular Bridge Club party Thursday at her spacious home. After seven games Mrs John Cinadr won high score and the club prize a box of bath powder. Guest prize went to Mrs Reginald Smith a jar of pineapple preserves. Out of town guests included Mrs K D McCollum of San Antonio and Mrs Ernestine Mergenthaler of Shiner.
Hon. Sam Devall of Hallettsville Lavaca county is invited to serve on the Texas Tax Relief Commission. The group will study state and local tax systems and push legislation to ease burdens on farm home and business property. Devall, a member of the revenue and taxation committee, aims to aid Lavaca county constituents.

Farmers hereabouts have started plowing under their cotton crop as part of the acreage reduction campaign signed up with the government.
The Gonzales County Fair and Pecan Exposition runs October 24 to 28 in Gonzales. The board of managers has named committee chairmen for the various departments.
The note recalls Wiley Post the American aviator who completed a round the world flight in 7 days 18 hours and 45 minutes. It also mentions Germany smaller in area than Texas with a population of 65 300 000 and that 89760 dimes laid edge to edge would form a mile long row.
Births announced for July and August include Wieley Walter to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Haase on Saturday July 29 a son Barbara Lee to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pundt of Moulton on Thursday July 27 a daughter Marie Louise to Mr. and Mrs. Willie Wieting near town on Tuesday August 1 a daughter.
F. W. Few, longtime LaGrange superintendent for 10 years, resigns to lead Pearsall schools next year. L. B. McGuffin of Pearsall, formerly of Yoakum, will take over LaGrange schools.
Mr. Louis Pietsch and family of Hallettsville visited homefolks here the past week. Pietsch recently sold his filling station at Hallettsville and has not yet decided what business he will engage in.
Mr and Mrs Elo Fehrenkamp with Misses Helen and Marguerite Boehm of Moulton and Miss Dorothy Hoppe of Smithville returned Sunday from Chicago where they attended the Century of Progress Exposition. They report a fine trip a wonderful fair and a good time.
Vladik Boehm J. T. Jaeggi R. B. Papacek and Roy Kotze attended a Schulenburg business men's meeting Tuesday. They report local firms have adopted the same hours as Moulton.
Miss Annie Laurie Jaeggli returned from Chicago where she attended the big fair. She reports a wonderful fair and a good time.
Fritz Maeker 87 of Flatonia died at Shiner hospital July 25 after a stroke. Burial at Flatonia City Cemetery July 26 with Rev. A H Falkenberg of Moulton officiating. Born in Germany October 4, 1844 he came to Texas in 1868. Survived by seven children, 37 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, plus siblings.
Mrs W K Richter along with Misses Anita and Evelyn Richter of Moulton and Mrs Arnold Wiedemann of Flatonia returned from Chicago where they visited the World’s Fair. En route they called on Rev and Mrs Paul Hannemann in Palmer Iowa and Mr and Mrs James Donald Richter in Arkansas City Kansas. They traveled 3006 miles without any trouble.
