Information from Austin states 252 Texas counties may share in a $25,000,000 federal highway aid allotment under a road construction plan. The highway commission recommends at least one project per county be financed with federal aid, pending approval by R. E. McDonald in Washington.
Herman Seekamp county commissioner of Yoakum met with business leaders to discuss extending Highway 95 from Flatonia to Smithville and from Elgin to Taylor. Delegates from towns along the route will gather in Taylor to pursue the plan for a straight coastal-bound highway.
Oak Grove school celebrates its fiftieth anniversary on Sunday July 30 with a parade at 1130 am a big dinner and an oration by Hon H S Paulus of Yoakum ex teachers speakers a 4 pm baseball game and a night dance with Ed Kubicek's orchestra The American Legion Band of Moulton will perform during the day.
Geier Merrem Post No 392 American Legion in Moulton will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night August 1 at 8 o clock. Officers for the ensuing year will be elected and other important business will be transacted. All members should be present.

Arkansas Alabama Tennessee and California voted to repeal the Eighteenth Amendment. The repealists lead 20 states with none for repeal by anti-repeal forces. Texas votes August 26 with Senator Morris Sheppard predicting Texas will oppose repeal. Wet leaders claim a two to one vote in favor.
Moulton through its Chamber of Commerce gave 10.00 to a fund for a credible Texas exhibit at the Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago. Towns contributing will have their names placed on the Texas building honor roll.

Miss Josie Lee Petrek returned to her home in Cistern after a pleasant visit with relatives and friends here. Mr. F. T. Fehrenkamp and Harvey Louis Fehrenkamp drove to Houston Saturday to accompany Mrs. Fehrenkamp and Dorothy Louise on their return from a visit there.
Mr and Mrs Ben W Novak and their baby Leroy visited Mrs Bertha Novak at the Frank Barta home in Flatonia on Sunday.
Travis Koester, son of Mr and Mrs Emil Koester, has returned home from the hospital after typhoid fever and is reported to be getting along fine.
Mr and Mrs Ludwig Freytag and baby with Miss Bertha Ochi and Erwin Oehl motored to San Antonio Sunday to visit W F Oehl who recently underwent a surgical operation at Santa Rosa hospital. Mr Oehl is getting along fine.
A record crowd attended the Moulton Fire Department benefit dance at Hermann Park Hall after a day of festivities. The Musical Millers of Hearts Delight provided music, Ed Boehm's Sons sponsored and advertised the event, and 788 tickets were sold. The day also featured a corn shucking contest won by Emil Stainacher, with cash and flour prizes.
Acknowledgement from Dallas Texas dated July 24 1933 to Mr O F Knape thanks for a ten dollar check to the Texas exhibit fund. The check was turned over to treasurer Nathan Adams with appreciation for cooperation and pride in Moulton's place on the honor roll.

Frank Krause of Boerne came in Tuesday to pick up his wife who has been visiting relatives and friends. He also called at The Eagle office to chat with printers and adjust his subscription figures. The Krauses are contemplating a trip to the big fair next week.
Sidney J. Foster, 68, died at his Gonzales county home and was buried Thursday in Stonewall Cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. A. Dickson. He is survived by his widow, two sons, a sister and a brother. Foster was a Gonzales county native who lived in the Saturn community most of his life.
