House Makes Further Cuts in Texas Budget
The Texas house of representatives continued debate on the departmental appropriation bill. The state highway engineer’s salary was cut to 4000 a year from 8009, with prior steps reducing to 6000 and the assistant chief and patrol chief also trimmed. Patrol numbers were debated but not abolished, sergeants pay fell by 7500, and the public instruction chief and his assistant saw 800 and 550 annual cuts respectively.

Boy Breaks Arm on School Campus Friday
