Richard W Beck 23 of Dwight a highway maintenance man said a Norelco tape player valued at 100 dollars a set of socket wrenches worth 40 dollars a small clock worth 10 dollars and an air compressor worth 150 dollars were missing at 3 30 a m Thursday.

Joliet duo sentenced on murder and robbery charges
Richard Vaughn age 20 and Thiris Smith age 27 of Joliet pleaded guilty in Grundy County Circuit Court to attempted murder armed robbery and aggravated assault. Garage Fire Destroys Farm Structure North of Morris Airport
Early morning flames gutted a four car garage on Mrs Phillip Collins farm near Morris Airport. Firemen fought the blaze from 1 20 a m for three hours and stopped it from reaching nearby buildings. A 1973 auto a 1959 pickup and a motor boat were all destroyed with no damage estimate given.

FBI arrests two Coal City men in stolen property case
Two Coal City businessmen George T McCabe Jr owner of Bozo's Liquors and James F Togliatti owner of Toulie's Lanes were arrested by FBI agents on charges of receiving stolen property from an interstate shipment. Tom S. Cwik of 108 George St. has formally applied to Acting Mayor Robert Gilbertson for the vacant Fourth Ward alderman post created by Jerry Borens resignation Aug. 27. Nancy Tofte, 29, of Bourbonnais, died Thursday when her car collided with a semi at the Illinois 50 intersection with an I 57 exit north of Kankakee. The semi driver Walter Niselik of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, was charged with failure to yield.
