Injured Boy Improves in Joliet Hospital After Pedestrian Car Collision
A 3 year old Morris boy, Clark Barkley, was listed in fair condition at St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after being struck by a car on W Jackson St. He was thrown 16 feet and sustained head injuries. The incident occurred at 11 54 a m Saturday as Carolyn Yard, driving a 1966 Chevrolet, could not avoid the child who ran north across the street. The car slid 30 feet 6 inches. No tickets were issued and the car was not damaged. The boy was moved from intensive care to pediatrics today.
