A British Britannia airliner carrying 117 vacationing passengers struck the snow ahead near Ljubljana Brnik Airport and burned. Ninety five people were killed with 22 survivors, most from the back of the plane, as rescue workers battled shock and smoke in the first major Yugoslav air disaster.

Mrs. Lacita K. Taylor 60 of Lansing Illinois was involved in a one car crash at 245 PM on Pine Bluff Rd two and one half miles east of Illinois 47. Her 1962 Chevrolet left the road traveled 315 feet and struck a dirt ramp into a field. She was admitted to Morris Hospital for an elbow injury and a cut on the upper left hand. Deputies Rob ert Coleman and Richard Pierce investigated.
