Stott charged with battery to Herald reporter

Man drowns on Illinois River near Material Service
William Pelate 55 of Grand Towers died after falling from a barge on the Illinois River near Material Service Co. He was found by Morris Fire Department divers and pronounced dead by Grundy County Coroner James Reeves. An inquest and autopsy were ordered. Survived by wife Francis, daughter Bille R.
