Multiple injuries after Marseilles area crash on Dwight Road
Eight youths from the Marseilles Seneca area were hospitalized after a one car crash on Dwight Road near Southmor Road. Driver Raymond Bottoms 21 and several passengers aged 14 to 17 were treated at Morris Hospital with Bottoms facing alcohol related charges. A separate incident at McLindon Road involved a Rock Island train collision with a vehicle driven by Marshall Browder 49 of Chicago, resulting in minor injuries and a totaled car. A third wreck on U S 6 near Marseilles Road saw tractor trailer and truck collision with no injuries to the driver of the trailer.

In Gran County Circuit Court Robi Malmquist ordered James D. Joneson 21 of 380 Kankakee Street Coal City held on 5000 bond after a Tuesday raid by Coal City Police and Gran County Sheriff deputies recovered marijuana hashish barbiturates amphetamines MDA hypodermic syringes and other items. Joneson and Bruc Stewart 21 of 40 W First Street were charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Stewart released on bond. Joneson to appear November 21 after posting 100 bond.
