A 27 year old Braidwood resident Larry E Canterbury died at St Joseph Hospital Joliet from burns suffered Oct 10 when a glue can used for wall tiling ignited a blaze that destroyed a house owned by Pete Vigna 1.5 miles south of Braceville. He drove to Wilmington Police Station severely burned, with his clothes burned away. Survived by wife Karen Denton and two daughters Michelle Renee 6 and Julie Ann 4, along with parents and siblings. Funeral arrangements by Branson Funeral Home Flora and Patterson Funeral Home Braidwood. Born Jan 6 1944 in Mill Shoals he worked at Uniroyal and did contracting work.

An 84 year old man nearly blind was found in a cornfield near U S 30 and Illinois 26 about 12:30 a m after a 70 person search by Plainfield police fire civil defense Will County sheriff state police and canine unit. He had left home at about 8 p m to check a fire and wandered off talking to farm workers before getting lost. He was in good condition and returned home.
