Indictment Charges Turner in Minooka Murder Case
A Grundy County grand jury returned a three count murder indictment against 34 year old Charles Robert Turner for the killing of his landlady Emma C. Miles in her Minooka basement apartment. The indictment alleges Turner struck Miles inflicting head and body injuries with intent to kill and charges murder during a burglary attempt. Turner appeared in circuit court to face the indictment after a lengthy preliminary hearing. a confession and Miranda compliance were key disputed items.

Indicted Aurora couple charged in marijuana possession case
Carolyn Green 23 and Richard Smith 24 were indicted by a Kendall County Grand Jury for possessing 260 grams of marijuana from a July 15 arrest by the Kendall County sheriff. William Welsch 21 of Aurora, already pleaded guilty to marijuana possession. All three were arrested after the car’s luggage compartment was found nearly filled with marijuana plants. they are free on bond and to be arraigned this week.
