Chief Justice Klingbiel to be Honored by Area Attorneys
Illinois Supreme Court Justice Ray L. Klingbiel will be honored at a dinner next Tuesday at the Ramada Inn in Ottawa by attorneys from Grundy Bureau and La Salle counties. Eighteen judges and magistrates will be honored including Morris officials Leonard Hoffman Chester Minor and Robert Malmquist. Justice Klingbiel seeks retention on the Illinois Supreme Court.

The Museum of Art at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence announces the world’s first permanent exhibition of modern Latin American art. Twenty pieces have been purchased to launch the show which opens October 23.

The U S Weather Bureau reports cloudy mild conditions tonight with a chance of drizzle and a low in the upper 50s. Showers possible Friday into Friday night with a high in the 60s. Saturday remains cloudy with showers ending and cooler air. Winds southeast to south 10 to 15 mph. Collins Weather Station logged 67 high and 54 low Wednesday. At 10 am today Morris station read 55 and at 12 30 pm downtown Morris read 64. A total of 90 inches of precipitation was measured in the last 24 hours.

Mazon pupils rally to save historic Cragg Cabin
Mazon-Verona-Kinsman High School students propose buying and moving the Cragg Cabin to the school grounds as a museum. The cabin built in 1832 by John and Agnes Cragg, housed Underground Railroad activity near Braceville and is Grundy County's oldest remaining structure.
