Car-train crash kills Clayton D. Campbell near Custer Park
A 32 year old Custer Park resident Clayton D. Campbell died Saturday when his 1966 pickup was struck by a southbound Norfolk and Western train near Custer Park. The crash at 11 50 a.m. involved 24 cars and the engineer was Orville R. Wilcox of Decatur. Campbell had worked for Caterpillar in Joliet for ten years and was a member of local clubs. Visitation follows at Patterson Funeral Chapel and Cox and Martin Funeral Home with services at Cox and Martin in Sandoval.

Cicero Youth Claims Accident in Oak Park Murder Case
David J. Kaye 19 says he accidentally struck Mildred Schwaegerman 55 with his car near an Oak Park transit station. He allegedly panicked and dragged her into his car where she died en route to a hospital. Her body was later found in Du Page county. no sexual assault was reported.
