Three injured in local accidents
A Morris man 36 was held for observation at Morris Hospital after a one car crash on U S 6 at Susan Circle Ridgecrest at 3 15 a m Sunday. Clifford J Brandt 812 Division St westbound left the road struck a tree in a yard and suffered possible back and head injuries. Two Morris men were treated and released after a 4 30 a m Saturday crash on Old Illinois 47 north of DuPont Road. Gary L Wren 24 and passenger John S Gordon 21 sustained multiple injuries from the collision which totaled the car. A third accident on Illinois 47 near Romine’s Standard Plaza involved Gregory W Torrence and Everett Granville with minor injuries and a traffic citation for Granville.

Coal City youth freed after drug raid charges dropped
A Coal City youth, Michael Hanley, 22, was released without charges after a Will County preliminary hearing. He was among four youths arrested in a late Thursday raid on Lorenzo Rd near the Grundy County line, with marijuana, LSD, amphetamines, heroin and unknown pills recovered.

Former Sen. Dodd Dies of Heart Attack in Old Lyme

Two Car Crash Injures Morris Boy and Driver
