A 21 year old Morris man was sentenced to six months at Vandalia Illinois State Farm for two counts of disorderly conduct in false bomb reports to Minooka High School January 18 and Shabbona School January 19. He receives credit for time served in Grundy County jail since January 19.

Hijackers Seize Seaplane From Miami Island Base
Two shotgun wielding men shot and wounded the pilot and a ground crewman of a Chalks International twin engine seaplane and forced the co pilot to fly toward Cuba after a gun battle with police on Watson Island. The hijackers said they wanted to get out of the country and were joined by four or five passengers aboard the craft. Airport officers traded shots with the hijackers as another Chalks plane was moved to block the takeoff path. The FAA said the plane headed south toward Cuba.
