The Morris city dump stopped receiving liquid industrial and septic wastes after EPA Illinois division ruled the practice illegal without a special permit. Alderman Borens said the odor came from waste from Northern Petrochemical Co contracted via Joseph Murphy. The waste is being cleaned with strawing and will be removed. future deposits are blocked at the gate.

French customs seized 937 pounds 425 kilograms of pure heroin from the shrimp boat Caprice des Temps in Marseille.
