Chains warn of rising food costs
Washington reports that food chains warn consumer groups of another major rise in food prices, especially meats, as the Price Commission prepares to meet next Wednesday to discuss the situation. Timothy D. McEnroe of the National Association of Food Chains says chains have absorbed recent wholesale increases for eight to nine weeks and that retail prices may rise again.
