Modern Noahs prepare for doomsday in Illinois commune
In Cabery Illinois the Stelle Group a 140 member religious community plans for May 5 2000 as doomsday. They foresee a nuclear apocalypse and ocean upheaval leaving an island in the Pacific to be ruled from air craft and a self sufficient 340 acre village with 48 blocks and hydroponic farms. Leaders led by Richard Kieninger claim tax exempt status and project 1980 goals of 10 000 members with self management schooling and crafts plants.
