Mr. and Mrs. Dale Meadors announce the birth of a daughter Michele Lee born Sunday at Northwest Community Hospital Arlington Heights. They also have a 5 year old son Terry Lynn. Grandparents are Mrs. Howard Schertz and the late Howard Schertz of Hopedale and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Meadors of Mazon.
Decorations in Garnet Kaisner blue and white graced the Moose Garnet Kaisner bridal shower at Mrs. Allen Kief home. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. Clifford Bossert and Mrs. Dale Starks. Prizes went to Mrs. Harlan Jantzen Mrs. Norman Lewis and Mrs. Paul Trone.
Frank E. DeVaney 88 of Rte. 2 Brook field Township died at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St Marys Hospital Streator after a six week stay. He was a retired farmer and former supervisor for Thomson Phosphate Division. Surviving daughter Rosemary Weitz Morris grandchildren and a sister. Funeral 10 a.m. Friday at St Patricks Seneca with burial Calvary Cemetery. Visitation 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday Pfeffer Funeral Home Seneca.
Paula Lynes and John C Larsen married May 1 at Peace Lutheran Church in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev David Miller. The couple, from Lompoc California and Miguelito Canyon, will reside in Wilmington. Attendants included matron of honor Mrs John Enger and best man James H Larsen. A reception followed on May 22 at Knights of Pythias Hall.
The forthcoming Republican sponsored family style picnic was announced with July 24 as the date at Waupecan Lodge Morris starting at 5 p.m. Secretary of State John Lewis will be guest speaker with details to follow. Co-sponsored by Grundy County Women's Republican Club and County Republican Central Committee, TARS and STARS assist with activities. Mrs Walter White and Mrs Glen Anderson oversee arrangements.
JFF Club gathered Thursday evening with president Mrs William Hiles presiding. Members shared graduation memories during roll call and a letter from the Ken Reader family was read. Mrs Larry Buttry won the mystery prize.
