Coast Guard Auxiliary stage Safe Boating Week rescue at Stratton
A 6 foot 3 man was rescued from the Illinois River near Stratton State Park as part of National Safe Boating Week activities. The Illinois River Division VII program featured demonstrations and booths with 100 plus Auxiliary members and cooperation from Morris Fire Department, Illinois Conservation, and Glenview Naval Station.

Steven Lee Brier 19 of Yorkville was found drowned at a gravel pit near Fennel and Indian roads. The death followed a drowning in Kendall County last June and precedes a nuclear plant hearing postponed by the Atomic Energy Commission Safety and Licensing Board. Memorials are requested to National Wildlife Conservation.
