American Airlines admits illegal campaign donations to Nixon

American Airlines disclosed it made illegal corporate contributions to Richard Nixon's 1971 and 1972 campaigns after a request from Nixon lawyer Herbert Kalmbach. George Spater took corporate responsibility, noting $75,000 paid in five installments with $55,000 from corporate sources, while Kalm bach urged disclosure. Charges Dismissed for Two in Morris Inn Robbery Case

Circuit Judge Malmquist dismissed armed robbery charges against Jessie S. Lopez and Ronald B. Gosser at the request of Assistant State's Attorney James Peacock. Each man faced bail set at 50 000. The case involved the July 26 Morris Holiday Inn robbery and other suspects remain in custody.

Grundy County 4 H camp dining hall at Shaw Waw Nas See is named Tascher Hall in memory of Murl E Tascher a longtime Grundy County farm adviser. Safe boating program Sunday at Stratton Park

Nine U S Coast Guard flotillas from Division 7 will join at William G Stratton State Park Sunday for National Safe Boating Week events. A water parade Queen will arrive at 10 a.m. with speakers from U W C G and Washington. A simulated Coast Guard rescue, displays by the Illinois Department of Conservation, fire safety demonstrations, free extinguisher recharges, and courtesy boat examinations will accompany public education tours and free balloons for children.

Girl Struck By Van Critical After Coal City Road Crash

Diane Hodgen 13 of 195 Irving St Coal City is in critical condition at St Joseph Hospital Joliet after being hit by a van driven by Dale Hurst 23 of 40 East St Wilmington on Coal City Area Club Rd two miles north of Coal City. Hodgen was hurled 84 feet and rushed to hospital. Sheriff reports she swerved into the truck.

Kocher Named New Pastor at Immaculate Conception Morris

The Rev. Donald Kocher 42 is named pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris by Bishop Romeo R. Blanchette. Kocher, former associate pastor under Rev. James Kinzig, grew up in Naperville and served in the Air Force before studying for the priesthood. He credits a military chaplain as a major influence and says Morris offers strong church collaborations. he also serves as president of the Morris Council of Churches.
