Youths Build Marsh Bridge At Goose Lake Prairie Park
Eight youths from Coal City Morris and Gardner completed a 10 week Youth Conservation Corps program at Goose Lake Prairie State Park sponsored by the Illinois Department of Conservation. They built a 441 foot floating marsh bridge and a one mile trail, posted park boundary signs, and cleared hawthorn trees while also studying at Short Cemetery and visiting Illinois Beach State Park Chain O Lakes and other sites.

Minooka High School Wing Nears Substantial Completion
The Minooka High School Board authorized president Lee Thompson to sign substantial completion papers for the 22 classroom academic wing after reviewing a punch list from Field Goldman and Macgee architects. A Wednesday meeting with architects and contractors was set to review band, choir, kitchen, locker room and administrative areas. A tentative next year budget was adopted and placed on agenda.

Three people were injured in a two car collision at Division and Jackson Streets Monday afternoon. Paul Storms Jr. and Robert Storms were treated and released at Morris Hospital while Charles Clemmons sustained minor injuries. The island bans standard hard metal shoes and relies on horse drawn taxis and bicycles.
