Douglas Knudson 20 of Minooka died from massive head injuries after falling 90 feet from the top of an ADM grain elevator on River Road to a catwalk. An inquest is planned. He was a 1974 Minooka High and 1975 Joliet Junior College graduate. survived by wife Sherri, parents Gerald and Patricia, sister Lynn, and other relatives. Two youths arrested in Grundy County for marijuana
Deputies arrested Carey Clutts aged 19 of Pontiac and Thomas Crawford Jr. aged 19 of Coal City on possession charges after traffic stops on Illinois 129 and at Illinois 53 and Huston Road. Clutts posted 100 bond and Crawford posted 100 bond. A passenger, Frank Albrecht, was not charged.

Betty Story notified the Grundy County Sheriff's Department at 11 10 a m Saturday that three mailboxes at her residence were vandalized with posts removed and smashed. Deputy Charles Marketti found corn and bean fields damaged and a vehicle driven through fields at Holm and Becker Roads injuring John Lewis and Mr Peerson's property.

Kendall accident kills Ottawa man David Thompson dies in Kendall County crash
A two car crash on Illinois 34 in Kendall County left eight injured and killed David Thompson, 19, of Ottawa. Johnson, 29, of Ottawa, drove a 1976 Torino and collided with Sturgeon, 34, of Tinley Park, who held a 1973 Chevrolet Nova. Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson and Sturgeon were injured along with several passengers. Funeral arrangements are set for Gladfelter Funeral Home in Ottawa with visitation tonight.

Annexation Petition Reduced by 77 Acres in Grundy County
Grundy County Regional Superintendent Leroy Brandt said the Grundy County Regional Board of School Trustees approved a petition to annex property to Mazon-Verona-Kinsman District 2 with less acreage than in the original filing.
