Minooka car hits fire hydrant injuring driver in crash
A Minooka woman Rosanne Olson 24 was admitted for observation at Morris Hospital after her 1977 Plymouth struck a village hydrant on Minooka Rd at 2 15 am. Passenger Paul Gillion 23 sustained minor cuts and bruises while Jeffrey Craig 23 avoided injury. Deputy said oil tire possibly blew out causing the swerve into a ditch and $2000 damage to the car front and windshield.

Morris Fire Department answered a grass fire Saturday at 5 14 p m on Rod and Gun Club Road at Blackberry Drive. Firefighters said burning rubbish spread to the grass but the fire was extinguished by 5 44 p m.

Deputies ticket two motorists in Grundy County
Two motorists were ticketed in Minooka Friday by Grundy County deputies. Douglas J. Williams, 18, of Mable Court, cited at 3:45 p.m. for driving a motorcycle in violation of license classification after posting his license on the ticket. Daniel J. Rogers, 18, of Braidwood, cited at 5:30 p.m. for disobeying a stop sign after posting his license. Both are to appear in Grundy County Circuit Court on August 24.

A Morris youth 11 was admitted Sunday to Morris Hospital for observation after a bicycle car crash on Division Street near Waverly Street. Richard Barkley 16 was treated at Morris Hospital after colliding with Laurie Sliver 17 in a green 1968 Ford at 7 p.m. on Division Street. The Ford sustained minor damage. Barkley was transported by Grundy County Ambulance.
