Rockwell Inn, formerly Seven Gables, set to open on U.S. 6 west of Morris. Co owners Larry Romines of Morris and Victor Anderes of Peru plan a homey atmosphere with an antique bar from the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair and a Rockwell themed interior. Anderes, 44, brings years in Switzerland France England and the United States plus a Red Door restaurant in Peru and Rockford. The menu will be fresh and homemade with a seven day a week schedule and plans for remodeling including a canopy and paved lot.

Injured driver remains critical after Kendall County crash
Zeferino Alonzo, 53, of Aurora, remained in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Copley Hospital after a head-on collision on Illinois 47 Saturday night that killed 16 year old Michael Johnson of Route 4. The 11:15 p.m. crash occurred about half a mile south of Caton Farm Road. Johnson died at the scene and Alonzo was transported to hospital by Larson Ambulance Service of Yorkville.

Woman traps hand in trailer window during break-in attempt
Morris police investigated a late Tuesday complaint from Mrs. Martha Price of 1215 Price St Hildy's Trailer Court. An unidentified man tried to force entry and pressed his hand through the window as she opened the door, then she shut it trapping his finger and he fled to the rear of the trailer.
