Yorkville Unit District Board awarded McKirgan Brothers of Plano the No 1 fuel bids over Collins Oil Co of Aurora citing Collins defaulted on prior contracts during the oil shortage. McKirgan offered 49 cents a gallon for gasoline and 37 cents for No 2 fuel oil, while Collins bid 47.4 and 36.5 cents respectively. No 5 fuel oil went to Murphy Miles at 31.86. Other contracts approved include dairy, bread, and ice cream supplies. The board plans sewer hookups to the bus barn and Yorkville Grade School with EPA permit expected soon.
