Wind Blamed For Goose Lake Camper Crash In Illinois

High winds caused a camper to fly off a 1969 Chevrolet pickup on Illinois 47 near Saratoga Cemetery. No injuries were reported as the camper struck a Ranchero, damaging its windshield and front end. The camper was destroyed.

Flooding and snow forecast as Illinois River rises again

Flood conditions persist along the Illinois River in Grundy County with snow predicted to follow and showers mixed with snow. Weekend rainfall 1.13 to 1.61 inches caused river rises of 2 to 4 feet and a 15.22 foot level at 7 a.m. today. Emergency crews reinforced levees as Mississippi flooding threatens lowlands and road closures occur near Rockwood and Chester.

Accident injures two men on U S 6 at Barrington Rd

A 33 year old man from Marseilles and an 18 year old Morris youth were in a two car crash on U S 6 at Barrington Road at 2 35 p m Friday. The driver of the unknown vehicle caused the other car to skid into the eastbound lane. Both men were taken to Morris Hospital with scalp lacerations. Cheshareck was held for observation and Classon released. He was cited for improper lane usage and will appear in court April 2.

Car Overturns Near Airport Injuring Dennis and Kathy Kelly

Dennis M. Kelly and his wife Kathy of 2214 Tepee Ave Carpentersville sustained minor injuries when their car, southbound on Illinois 47, overturned near Morris Airport at 6 40 p m Friday The vehicle veered onto the shoulder then crossed the oncoming lane and vaulted over a guard rail ending inverted in a ditch They were taken to Morris Hospital where Dennis received a 1 5 inch forearm cut and Kathy bruises Olson s Arco towed the car No tickets were issued by Sgt Ronald Fox and Deputy Sheriff Tim Neary The Morris Fire Department aided at the scene

Two-car Illinois 47 crash injures teen girl

Miss Linda C. Duha 17 of Route 3 was treated and released after a two car collision on Illinois 47 at Minooka Road in Saratoga Township. Carl E. Helmod 54 Hammond Ind was cited for improper passing at an intersection. Helmod faces court on April 10.

Demo Candidates Compete in Braceville Township Election

Democrats in Braceville Township field four candidates for Tuesday’s election. A Morris Daily Herald report misstated that no Democrats were running. Robert J. Gomora of Coal City is a supervisor candidate and auditors are Buzz Livsey Thomas Mosier and Raymond Stehik. Mosier lives in rural Coal City while Livsey and Stehik reside in Coal City.
