Moravia town council discussed issuing another beer permit for Jay Main and Kenneth Knapp to build on the lot south of Club 60 but took no action. Soap Creek Telephone seeks overhaul of Moravia and Moravia Telephone with a federal loan to modernize, facing opposition over service area loss and school district impact. council also heard protest from the Moravia Ministerial Association.
Moravia union office announces in stock regulation receipt books for drivers. Fifty triplicate sets make a full book available for immediate purchase.
Monday evening meeting at New Hope with Rev. Whitenack and Wesley M Y F. Mrs. Josephine Lindley served cake and koolaid. New grandchild to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Schrodt announced. Belinda Sue born Friday to Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Beaton of Lancaster California. Numerous visits and picnics noted among Melody club members and area families, plus a PAG meeting at Lake Okiboji and a Rebekah picnic attendance. Local visits to Bert Meadows, Lute Hiatt, Ivan Harsh, and Daniels family during weekend and Sunday gatherings.
A Moravia park gathering with Mrs Joan Pettibone marks a busy midweek social scene. Moravia residents Mr and Mrs Ora Powell and Marlyn visit John Doud home. many locals host relatives, attend church events, and note health updates. Joyce Clayworth helped celebrate 10th birthday at the Spring home as families share ice cream and cake.
Salem society rounds up weekend visits and gatherings. Des Moines couple stayed with Robert Jennings. Knoxville and Des Moines visitors joined dinners and strolls at local homes. A shower for Kenneth Brown was hosted at the Beryl Brown home with several attendees.
And sons spent Sunday at the Carl Calhoun home. Mr. and Mrs. Jamies McCord of Indianola spent Sunday evening at the Edward McCord home. Mrs. Delbert Calhoun and Amy Hiner attended a galloping tea at the home of Icel Christy Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Don Richards visited at the Delbert Calhoun home.
Former Urbana township residents gathered at the Blakesburg Corn Carnival Saturday. Attendees included Harry Stevenson of Goldfield John Stocker and sister Geneva Fredrickson Ottumwa Wm Wiand and family Mason City Gus Johnson and daughter Zelma Hop king Albia Chas McAlister family Burlington Glen McAlister and Mildred Eaves Ottumwa Elmer Cloyd Ottumwa John Belles Burlington Albert Tubaugh Moravia Walter Anawalt Cedar Rapids F L Underwood Springville visited the Faber home after the program Judy Gillen stayed with Cathy Faber Sunday Bruce Faber returned to Cedar Falls for post graduate work at ISU.
The Tay lor Toilers 4 H club met Sept 8 at David and Donald Wests. President Jim Argo called the meeting to order. Six members answered roll call with What I Won at the Fair. Officers elected were Donald West president Jim Argo vice president Jerry Roblenz secretary reporter treasurer. David West voting delegate Guy Argo leader Jack McDonough assistant leader. Participants included Ted and Ralph McDonough Jim Max Argo David Donald West and the reporter.
