A fine rain visited Monday easing drought as residents hauled water. Rev. Eaton conducts revival at Hopewell Baptist. Enid Morrison and Gilbert Herman wed Sept 22 in Lancaster Missouri. A lengthy social roll includes many centerville and Des Moines visitors and a birth weighing eight pounds. The Baptist and M E Sunday Schools held a joint picnic near the M E parsonage.
Moravia opened on their home field with a 20 to 0 victory over Moulton Seconds. Smith scored early, Easter caught a 40 yard pass for a second TD, and Fletcher added another score. Dudley with two extra points secured the lead as Moravia dominated the second half while keeping Moulton scoreless. Moravia girls edged Moulton 19 to 18 in a later basketball game with a late technical ruling giving the win to Moravia after a tight finish.
