Adult Glasses To Begin Tonight

The first Agriculture Adult Evening school class will be held Thursday Oct 1 at 8 00 pm in the Moravia Community school vocational agriculture room. Floyd Ransom manager of the college improvement farm will speak on Pasture Improvement in Southern Iowa. A film Cash in on Grass will open the program with a discussion to follow. Coffee and doughnuts will be served.

FFA Star Farmer of the Month Bob Harsh Named Chapter Winner

Bob Harsh son of Mr and Mrs Ivan Harsh was chosen as the Chapter Star Farmer of the Month for 1959 60 his supervised farming program includes 6 purebred Borreedale ewes 9 cross breed ewes and 5 feeder pigs His projects also cover weed control barn maintenance 50 rods of fence a 10 by 24 foot corn crib and lambing support castrating docking and ration preparation He assists ewes at lambing dip the flock and has other activities in Rand Thespians FBL A and Annual Staff Reporter Billy Main Mrs Della Bivins was taken Monday to Monroe county hospital for treatment.

Moravia Couple Wed In Forest City Service

Miss Marlys Drugg daughter of Mr and Mrs Floyd Drugg Forest City and Bill Austin son of Mr and Mrs Glen Austin Reding were married at 2 30 pm Sunday Sept 20 at the Forest City Methodist church. The double ring ceremony was performed by Dr Bland with Mrs Franklin Brinart as organist and Mrs Herbert Heller as vocalist. The bride wore a street length white velvet dress with white accessories and pearl earrings. She carried white roses on a white Bible tied with pink baby rose streamers. Matron of honor was Mrs Dewey Galloway in blue French lace with white accessories and pearl earrings. Her corsage was white roses. Best man was Marvin Austin of Iowa City. The couple will live at 228 South Main Albia.

Udell Parent Teachers Association met on September 21 with talks on child development in home school and church by Mrs. Ralph Labertew Supt Farthing and Rev Lyle Albright. McDonough Attends Council of Garden Clubs Meeting

Mrs. Max McDonough attended the annual central region meeting of the National Council of State Garden Clubs at Hotel Ft Des Moines with Iowa Illinois Michigan Indiana Wisconsin Minnesota and Missouri represented. Ordination brings 400 to Moravia Grace Methodist Church

About 400 attended the ordination of Rev. Weldon Whitenack as elder of the Methodist church at Moravia Grace Methodist. Bishop F Gerald Ensley led the service with several district superintendents assisting. A reception followed in the church parlors with cake coffee and punch. Separately bids for a new high school building and gym were opened, totaling about 286094 with bids from Graban of Boone and others for general plumbing heating and electrical work. Local labor to be used as much as possible.

Mrs. Fred Riggs Dies at Ames at 72

Mrs. Fred Riggs 72 of Ames died Friday at home. Born Cordova Minnesota she moved to Ames in 1939 with her husband a former E U B pastor who died in 1944. Survived by five sons Robert Donald Carl Glen and Max and three daughters Beth Wiley Max Allen and Jean Riggs plus two brothers and many grandchildren. Funeral 2 pm Tuesday at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Ames.
