Word reached Paul and Mary Moore of the death of 23 year old Joe Madden, son of Roy and Mrs Madden, after a 12 gauge shotgun discharged during a Cantril hunting party. Madden, injured in the left arm and shoulder, received aid in Cantril and Ottumwa hospital. His mother donated blood in a valiant effort to save him.
In Wildwood Springs Tennessee Roosevelt Garner the son of Mr and Mrs George Garner drew public notice during the campaign. Named for President Roosevelt he is a Republican who voted for Hoover this week according to Capper s Weekly. A separate brief describes a scene where a motorist with an Illinois license was halted and a man and woman argued on the highway, the man attempting to push the woman.
A quarrel escalates on the highway as a woman strikes first with a left and follows with a right. A man is described as knocked and both depart amid an aroma of liquor. The incident prompts neighbors to watch the fallout in the Moulton area.
L A Cox of Moult on dies from injuries after a fall while leaving 10 0 F hall. He was Noble Grand of the order and had attended to help prepare for the annual Odd Fellow and Rebekah banquet. He fell about nine o'clock, perhaps down twenty four steps, suffering a temple wound and possible fractured skull. He died about an hour later.
Guests departed after a hippy day centered on Mrs. Wilson at a birthday event recalling the joyful 1932 celebration. The gathering marked a milestone with warm wishes for many more years.
