L C Main sustained a broken leg in an afternoon accident at his Moravia area farm last Monday while helping treat an infected bull's foot. The injury occurred when he tripped and fell, breaking both bones seven inches below the knee. he is now confined to bed at home.

Turner Farm near Moravia plans for Christmas turkey sales after a large Thanksgiving run. Iva Turners marketed over 600 birds. the flock now numbers about 60 to 60. A shipment of 500 turkeys went to Armour Creameries in Osceola three weeks ago. Turkeys were dressed and packed within 40 hours of trucking. The pens sit east of the highway, drawing visitors curious about the flock. This marks the second year of turkey raising at the Turner farm.
Miss Maxine Gladfelder daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Gladfelder wed Virsil Kaster son of Mr and Mrs James Kaster in a Moravia home ceremony officiated by Rev J W Zerbe on Saturday evening November 26. The couple were joined by Miss Vera Eastor and John Sufficool as witnesses and are regarded among the community’s popular young people receiving many congratulations.
The menu lists pickles fried chicken with gravy, French fried potatoes, creamed turnips, Snead escalloped tomatoes, bread and butter, followed by pie or plum pudding, and coffee with jelly.
The W. F. M. S. faction entertained the Standard Bearers at a party in the M. E. church basement on Monday evening, November 21, with newly elected officers announced: President Marykina, Vice President Ruth Craffey, Recording Secretary Nadine Dons evan, Corresponding Secretary Lalwan Main, International Secretary Velda Hiatt, Treasurer Millie Cox.
A Rockford gathering hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lower included relatives of the Millers and Lowers. A Woodworth North Dakota turkey, sent by Perry Miller, topped the meal. Attendees numbered many, with local and out of town guests from Oskaloosa Iowa and Cambridge Massachusetts.
The marriage of Misa Helen Johnson of Lucas Iowa to Ernest Underwood of Moravia Iowa was announced. The bride is daughter of Ali and Mrs Freeman Johnson of Lucas, and the groom is son of Mr and Mrs Tom Underwood of Moravia. They will reside in Moravia after December 1 until March 1 then establish a home near Lucas.
A cryptic notice states December election of officers for a fraternal lodge. It mentions Defender Esth Hotweoming and flues paying, and notes that good attendance is desired by the Noble Grand.
The third Parent-Teacher Association program of the year will be presented to the public next Monday afternoon, December bth, at 3:16 o'clock in the High School assembly room. The program includes a dramatic reading, a talk on teaching children the use of money, violin solo, and a presentation titled Aids to Efficient Study.
A Thanksgiving gathering at the KR E McCord home east of Sean lam featured a noon dinner on long tables for numerous guests. The afternoon included readings and songs by children as the social day continued with a large list of attendees.

Attendees included Res and Mrs A M Smith of North Liberty Iowa Mr and Mrs L A Messenger and three children from Manetu Inwa Mrs and Mrs W A Smith and three children of Albin Mr and Mrs T W Messenger and son of Wellman Iowa Rev and Mrs H A Smith and two children of Reas nor Iowa Mrs Herman Bertness and son of Sioux Rapids Town Mr and Mrs H K Smith and two children W T Smith and daughter of Moravia. The dinner was served by the ladies of the U B church.
A group of relatives gathered at the B. G. Hawk home Sunday for a turkey dinner in honor of VP Hawk and B. G. Hawk birthdays. Attendees included N. G. Wilson and family Ivank Wilson Leon ard Wilson F. G. Hawk Margaret Harrison Emily G. L. Cloyed Claude Hawk and family plus Mr Hawk family and Joe Angel Gale Gillen and Blakesburg visitors. Dale Schreiner and Wilhelm Blumenstock were Des Moines visitors Monday.

The discount applies to new and renewing subscribers, in arrears or paid in advance, and can be gifted to friends as a 52-issue yearly present. The paper stresses the reduction is temporary to lift low mood and urges immediate action.
Ladies attending Farm Bureau follow-up sessions heard detailed lessons on wool scouring and home soap making. Miss Mina Gannon demonstrated washing wool, carding, and creating wool mattresses, noting cost and comfort advantages.
