The Moravia High School 1033 graduating class will receive diplomas Thursday night. Thirty three members form one of the largest classes, excelling in scholastic achievement and extra curriculars. Members have prominent roles in dramatics, debate, music, journalism and athletics. They will be missed when the new school year starts next fall.
Evelyn Hiatt called on Mrs. Edith Boshak Sunday afternoon. The Sprouse sisters from near Moulton visited Elfred Sprouse and family. J. T. Hiatt and Ellen visited Centerville Tuesday. Bethel Coulson spent Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Harry Stark and family near Jerome. Harold Hudgens and children and Ernest Hiatt with daughter shared Sunday dinner at U. S. Hiatt home. Gus Hiatt and two sons called afternoon. Wanita Hiatt and Margaret also mentioned.
Hiatt and Josephine Scott attended a state commercial contest in Des Moines last Saturday and will meet Thursday afternoon with Mrs Anne Hiatt at her home. Beulah Powell visits with Edith Boshak and family. Various local families hosted and visited over Sunday including the Coulson, Garnea, Stark, McDonald, and Coltrain Hiatt households. Mothers Day program at Westery praised. Rev Hebrens spoke on motherhood. A wedding anniversary dinner honored Dwight Weatherly and daughter at M E MacDanel home with many relatives in attendance.
Fuller and Win Easter spent Friday evening at the Cecil Parcels home. Mrs. John Allem visited Ottumwa and took part in family time with Everett Mosier and kin. James Long and family were in Albia this Saturday, Jessy Smith and family spent Saturday in Centerville.
Ray Coltrain was a 4 business caller at the Quiller Adams home Tuesday. Gurtis and Carl Tomlin sheared sheep for H. T. Gilland Monday after Steve Gilland visited the Gilland home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roe Adams visited Mose Lockman Sunday. Mrs. Lockman remains about the game as she has for days. Rolla Lockman and Frank Lockman visited Quiller Adams Sunday evening. Carl Tomlin and children were business visitors in Ottumwa Saturday. Fairy Stocker and Gerald Irelan spent Sunday at W. Tome Tints. Raymond Lockman and family visited relatives near Unionville Sunday. Rev. Morgan of Albin will preach at the Enon schoolhouse Sunday at 2:30 weather permitting.
ICONIUM notices a string of visits as Mr and Mrs Jay Argo and Mr and Mrs Will Kelsey toured Centerville last Tuesday. Several families including the Dicks Penfield Argo Murphy and Gilliland clans hosted and called on kin at various parental homes and residences across the week.
Mrs Albert Veach and family visited Theo Miller's home while others gathered at Glee Callen and D K Orelup homes. Baccalaureate services were attended by Bayard Neff and son, Francis Miller joined a Moravia band trip to Albia for May festival.
Gaylord McDanel and family visited the M E B McDanel home Sunday. Mr and Mrs F W Wright spent part of last week at the W A Wilson home near Blakesburg. Mr and Mrs Jeff Patrick were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs A S Mangle. The Don Hayag family attended a Hayes reunion at the D W Hayes home in Hayesville Sunday. Enon and Moravia residents shared a busy weekend with many visitors. J L Jones hosted Bayard Neff and family. Moravia neighbors called on Grant Sincox and J T VanDorin. Moravia and Albia trips occurred for shopping and delivery, while Bible School and a Mother's Day program marked Sunday in town. A new 8½ pound boy arrived at the Lake Selby home Sunday evening.

A colossal electric locomotive, nine feet tall and gleaming in silver and black, arrived for display at A Century of Progress. It boasts two and a half times the power of a steam locomotive and will anchor a collection of railroad engines opening May 27. Presented to Exposition President Rufus C. Dawes by H. E. Pierpont, Milwaukee Head vice-president.
