Attendees listed include Nellie Rissie Gladfelder Lela Harrison Lucile McKern Neela Hawk Donna and guests Arlene Woodward Jeannine Imogene Tisue and sons. Marjorie Tisue and sons joined in the afternoon with the hostess Mamie and Harley Tisue. The next meeting is with Marjorie Tisue on June 1.
Udell residents hosted and visited family members across Mother's Day weekend. Guests included Gurney Jordan and Carol of Woodhull Illinois, Lewis Dommer of Albia, Josie Stuckey and Jerry Stary in Des Moines, Wilford Smith of Albia, and Robert Morlan family. Recurring mentions cover callers to D. M. Glasgow, E. A. Caylor, Alvin Springs, Dewey Houser Jr., Chet Curl, Minnie Morris, Denny Fenton, and Woodrow Duty’s lawn mower accident with injuries.
Wesley Chapel Bible School runs May 23 to June 3 with 1 to 3 30 pm sessions. Memorial Day class canceled. Wesley MYF held a 6 to 7 30 pm fishing party at Kenneth Daniels home. Numerous visits and gatherings described across Wesley Chapel and surrounding families through the week.
The Board of Supervisors of Appanoose county met in regular session with Earl Exline, Walter Harper and Glen Johnson present. They transacted bus iness and allowed claims for General Fund services and supplies including Appanoose County Tele. Co., Acres Blackmar Company, Bailey Typewriter EX, and township clerks and trustees in Bellair Caldwell townships among others.
