Moravia high school Scribbler staff toured Centerville plant Tuesday as the junior senior prom preparations showcased a notably refined gym. The event is described as among the finest, a climactic note to a high school career.
A Saturday evening talk by Mr. Nixon prompts mixed views on the administration and business sentiment shows pessimism locally. The district plans test plots at the new high school with varied crops, seeding rates, fertilizers, and weed control to study outcomes. The FFA chapter has planted the extra school ground with soybeans and saved about 700 dollars to fund new facilities at the high school.
Inez Margaret Williams born October 28 1886 on a farm near Albia Iowa died May 3 1961 in Des Moines aged 74 years 6 months 5 days She taught school in several states and homesteaded in South Dakota She married March 18 1912 and had four children two sons predeceased her Surviving are her daughter Bertha Anderson son James C Williams sister Velma Bokholt and many grandchildren great grandchildren nephews and nieces plus Golden Age Club friends of Des Moines
Churches First Christian Church led by Donald Plum and Mrs Birdie Main lists 10:00 a.m. Sunday school and 11:00 a.m. Communion. Ladies Aid at Birdie Main home. Church of the Nazarene under H LaVern Smith with Frank Woodward as Sunday School Superintendent schedules 11:00 a.m. Morning Worship and Mothers will be honored. Evening services canceled for baccalaureate on Sunday May 14. Prayer meeting moved to Thursday 7:30 p.m. for Commencement.

F A Richardson presides with 10:00 a m church school for all and 11:00 a m morning worship with the sermon A Mothers Love and Grief Open House at the Parsonage from 2:00 to 4:00 p m Baccalaureate at 8:00 p m reserved for seniors and families Wednesday the 17th Ladies Aid dinner and meeting Rev Richardson to move to a new charge and Rev Ogden to arrive that afternoon
Grace Methodist Church led by Rev Weldon Whitenack offers 9:00 morning worship and 10:00 Sunday school with Lee Benz as Church School Superintendent. Wesley Chapel lists Hayward Guenther as Superintendent with 9:00 Sunday school and 10:10 morning worship. Moravia hosts Richard Tublugh as Superintendent with 11:00 worship, Monday choir rehearsal at 7:00, and Tuesday training session at 8:00 for visitors of the Every Member Visitation.
Donna Koehler and Oren Stevenson wed at Fairview Brethren Church with Joanne as a bridesmaid. Visitors from Oregon and Missouri stayed with the Kellys. Sunday guests included the Harpers and Tomlins, Cox and Etheredge families, and others. W.S.C.S. meeting attendees included Miss Lee and Miss Janet Dixon along with Mrs. Bond, Mrs. Alden, and Mrs. Main.
Saturday and midweek social rounds as Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Kelly host and visit relatives including John Kelly Dale Cox Dennis Kelly Ramona and Ramona with extended calls to Burdett Cox Walter Harper Harold Fenton and Ramona in Des Moines. Dinner lunches and suppers mark the gatherings.
Urbana Center News reports Mr. and Mrs. Chet Hope of Evansville are parents to a son born April 23. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Vance and Mrs. Leonard Bettis, with multiple relatives visiting and attending events such as the Jr. Sr. Prom at Moravia on May 5.
