Blakesburg and Moravia school boards met at the local school house to discuss a gentlemen's agreement on territory served as residents show interest in creating a larger district and stable boundaries.
The Blakesburg district considers enlarging its area amid talk of building programs and tax impacts. Rural communities debate organization, elections, and which larger district to join for expanded schooling including diversified courses and music. The Ford Foundation 1955 report shows rising net sales and per share income, while Rathbun dam faces congressional hearings with local reps seeking support.
Udell residents host and visit relatives across Centerville Burlington and Mexico. Rev Lyle Albright returned from Independence and McPherson after a death in the family. Doyle Selix reenlisted in the armed services and was honored at home. Families shared dinners and Sunday meals, with visits from Des Moines Story City and California travelers noted.
