They argue wheeling Missouri River hydro power to Iowa preference customers will save taxpayers about 25 million over 50 years, improve grid reliability, and interconnect cooperatives with ample steam power capacity. Mrs. Carrie Tisue was honored at a birthday picnic at the Driscoll Nursing Home in Oelwein on Saturday evening. Attendees included her children Dan Spears and family of Louilia, Harry Tisue and family, Alfred Sutton of Waterloo, Harold Tisue and son of Westgate, Rex Tisue and sons of Sumner, and Robert Sutton and wife with their family of Waterloo. After dinner she opened gifts and displayed her cards and expressed thanks to all who remembered her.

Entrants must be 15 to 21, enrolled in a clothing club, and have three years in 4-H. Each division allows one winner per club and requires an up-to-date record book with cost and sourcing details.
Nine Appanoose County 4-H boys and three adults joined 1300 attendees at Ames last week for the annual Boys Short Course with the theme Focus on Careers. Talks on Agri-Business opportunities highlighted farm-to-business pathways, tours covered livestock nutrition, agronomy, and engineering farms, and youth learned how technology shapes new farming methods.

The ASC county office will accept wheat allotment applications for certain farms. A producer who intends to seed wheat for 1960 on a farm with no wheat seeded for harvest in 1957 and with no 1958 or 1959 allotment established must apply in writing to Dallas F. Walker, Chairman, ASC. Forms are available at the county ASC office. applications must be filed by July 1, 1959.
