Sunday gathering at multiple local homes

Residents listed spent Sunday visiting various neighbors. Mrs. Charley Quick and daughters Mrs Ada Schwab, Carl Boyer and family, Pearlie Boyer and Gene White joined others at Paul Boyer, Carl Tomlin, de Gladfelder, McDanel, Mc Kern, and Hilton homes.

New Hope visitors and local chores noted

New Hope residents including Mr and Mrs Delmont Moffitt and Nancy Jo and Judy visited Roy Scott on Tuesday. Moffitt also attended the M E McDanes sale. Ernest Foster assisted Carl Coffin with timber work on Wednesday. George Scott and Clyde and Alfred Howell butchered a beef for Roy Scott on Thursday. Mr Scott remains not much improved, noted Mr and Mrs Frank Chambers.

Local residents attend sales and visits in Moravia area

On Tuesday January 12 Coulson and Mrs Inez Lockman visited Mrs Kilmer Henderson while men attended the M E McDanes sale. Thursday evening guests at R E Luse home included Mr and Mrs E O Tucker, Mrs Mintia Shoemaker, Lillie and Elsia Callen and Mr and Mrs Theo Miller. Moravia callers Thursday included C S Callen and daughters and Martha Coulson Centerville visitor Thursday afternoon. The Mikels family from Exline vicinity attended the James Cline sale Wednesday and will move to the farm vacated by J R Callen. J R Callen spent Thursday at the C K E Miller home. Sunday evening guests were Myr and Mrs R E Luse and Betty, Mr and Mrs E O Tucker, and Mr and Mrs J F Chambers at Theo Miller home. Elmer Henderson and Otis Ballanger were in Albia Saturday. James Cline, J R Callen and Dale were Centerville visitors Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Bickford of Moravia spent Tuesday at the Hugh MacFatridge home. Mrs. Russell Brown and Mrs. Roscoe Argo returned home Monday from Chicago where they had been visiting their aunt, Mrs. Logan Callen. Delbert Rep was a caller at the John Moffatt home Saturday evening. Several from this vicinity were shopping in Albia Saturday. Mrs. John Moffatt and daughter, Daisy, spent Thursday at the Henry Elliott home. John Moffatt and son Roy were supper guests.
