Blakesburg Voters Back Consolidated School District

In Blakesburg Tuesday the consolidated district won approval with 186 in favor and 31 opposed. Franklin and Williamson in Urbana township, Adams township, and Polk township areas showed strong support, while the Polk area in Wapello County opposed. Majority view favored waiting for new state school laws before broader integration. Some technical objections were noted and future petitions may expand consolidation, with a possible building program tied to centralized education plans.
