Mr and Mrs Ora Powell returned home December 13 after days in Canada and the northeastern United States. They toured Ottawa and its government buildings spoke with locals. In Montreal they observed stone and brick architecture and French culture. They visited Boston for the American Farm Bureau convention with delegates from every state. Additional stops included New York City sights United Nations Building and Empire State Building followed by Harrisburg and Gettysburg monuments. They viewed the Eisenhower farm and farming operations in the area.

Funeral services for 82 year old John Hickey were held Monday in Moulton with many Udell friends in attendance. He is survived by a daughter Velva of Moulton, two brothers in Bloomfield, several nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by his wife Myrtle in 1944. Burial followed at North English.
Martha Elizabeth Coulson daughter of Franklin Pierce and Catherine Coulson was born October 1 1882 and died December 7 1958 at age 76 years 2 months 7 days. She lived on the family farm until four years ago then moved to town and resided at Guinn nursing home until her death. She taught school for 20 years after attending Coulson rural school and State Teachers College Cedar Falls. She attended Wesley Chapel church and was preceded in death by her infant brother and sister Edith.
Funeral services were held at Miller-Wherle funeral home with Rev Weldon Whitenack pastor of Wesley Chapel church in charge. She was laid to rest beside other family members in New Hope cemetery near her home.
