A Moravia Iowa post office letter from Wayne and Gary Tisue asks Santa for a gun, two stick horses, and two chairs. They invite Santa to share coffee and pie, noting the address line The Hiatts Moravia Iowa and that the sender is not familiar with the community.
The Union Neighbors club gathered with Mrs. F E Boyer on December 8. The meeting opened with Christmas carols led by Mrs. Boyer. Mrs. Williams conducted the business meeting. The year book was completed and mystery pals were revealed. Attendees included Mrs. Richard Barnes, Mrs. Kenneth Coltrain, Barbara, Mrs. Burdett Cox, Nyle, Mrs. John Head, Mrs. John Kelly, Hershel Kelly, Debbie, Mrs. Verner Hawk, Mrs. Vern Johnson and Richard, Mrs. Claus Johnson, Mrs. Gaylord Main, Mrs. Lee Tadlock, Mrs. Ben Williams, Mrs. Wilbur Miller, and Mrs. Richard Procter.
The regular Tay lor-Toilers 4-H club met at New Hope Schoolhouse Monday evening December 13 with 11 members present. President Charles Argo led the pledge to the flag and roll call was answered. They drew names for Christmas. Guests of the Taylor-Ettes 4-H club attended a Christmas party on December 15. Reporter Jimmie Burns.
Members and families of the Willing Workers club gathered at Roscoe Argo home for their annual turkey dinner and gift exchange. Attendees included Mr and Mrs John Exline Carieta Glenn Jim Mr and Mrs Hugh McFatridge Mr and Mrs Clyde Bowes Mr and Mrs George McCombs Colleen Beth Arn Mr and Mrs Clair Potts Richard Robert Martha Mrs Beryl Brown Kenneth Sheryl Jean Brown Mr and Mrs Glen Turner Mr and Mrs Russell Brown Mr and Mrs Leo Hoffman Richard Kenneth Mr and Mrs Wayne Thompson Bruce Marcia Mr and Mrs George Shehan Olive Moffatt Mr and Mrs Jess Lackender Vinton Lundy and the hosts Mr and Mrs Roscoe Argo.
The Urbana Doers 4-H club met at Jeanne Hawk's home with 13 members present. President Linda Ward called the meeting to order, roll call was taken, yearbooks were filled, and Ward gave a talk on artist John James Audubon. Both pledges were recited and plans for a Christmas party next Wednesday were discussed.
