Chester Woodcock and family called Sunday evening at the A F Woodcock home Everett Gilleapie and family and Mra Adda Robinson spent the week end at the Harry Robinson home.
R M Evans of Laurens announces district representatives who will work with extension specialists and local committees to explain the corn hog plan to farmers. Sign-up meetings will be held across townships where contracts are explained and farmers may sign. A new trend in the Agricultural Adjustment program allows removal of poor land from production in erosion zones, replacing average land with enough poor land to equal output, with specifics on ratios. Farmers wonder about processing tax on pork butchered on farms. consumption for family or hired help is exempt, otherwise tax applies.
The tax is collected and the law enforced through the nearest internal revenue collector. Proper forms for making reports and tax payments may be secured from that office.
Max McCoy attended a Moravia ball game Friday evening and a Christmas program is planned at Brompton school Thursday December 21. Mrs Flora Lillard has visited family in Decatur county and Maurice Lillard sawed wood Tuesday afternoon. Elwood Stafford helps McCoy in timber this week.
