Collision damages two cars at Broadway and Dewey corner
Henry Ehlert's Standard Dayton car collided with a Ford driven by two strangers at Broadway and Dewey yesterday afternoon. The Ford, turning north off Broadway, struck the Ehlert vehicle near the curb, killing neither car but leaving both badly damaged. The Ford couple, from Dowagine Michigan, carried baggage and claimed a push through the country on a small excursion. The incident raised questions as to how the crash caused so much harm at a reported speed of about five miles per hour.

Lee Byroads son of Mr and Mrs Manson Byroads of near Seafield died at his bathers home on North Illinois street Monday after a two day illness from influenza and pneumonia. He had been stationed at Camp Taylor since July 23 and returned to his brother's home last Thursday. He was born November 3 1895 at Reynolds and worked as a farm laborer before enlisting. Funeral Thursday at two o'clock at the Byroads home with interment in Riverview cemetery. He is survived by his parents two sisters and two brothers.
