Indian Bluffs Areas Gain Steam in State Budget Debate
An amendment to Senate File 672 seeks a 450000 appropriation for conservation projects in Indian Bluffs and Turkey River regions, filed May 1 by Senators Clifton Lamborn and Robert Rigler. The bill, advancing in the Senate, is slated for House action with slim odds of funding beyond 10000 for Indian Bluffs. Representatives from the Federal Bureau of Outdoor Recreation will tour Monticello area May 19 to inspect Indian Bluffs wilderness as a state planner visits.

Picray Receives Appointment to Colorado Springs Academy
Robin Vincent Picray of Hopkinton, son of Mr and Mrs Felix Picray, was named one of three young men to receive appointments to the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs. A 1967 Monticello Community High School graduate, Picray entered the Air Force in June 1967 and now attends the Air Force Preparatory School in Colorado. Congressman John Culver praised the candidates for overcoming rigorous testing and evaluations.
