Urge Veterans to Cash Leave Bonds in 1940s Program

Iowa officials urge World War II veterans to redeem terminal leave bonds issued in 1947 before they mature in 1951. About 130000 veterans or survivors may hold uncashed bonds that stopped earning interest five years ago. They should replace them with Series E bonds, which earn 3 percent interest, and avoid misinterpreting terms of Series F G or H bonds.
