Control Rat Destruction in Jones County Farms
County extension director C B Jessen reports ninety eight percent of Jones County rats concentrate around buildings and warm sheltered areas. Entomologist Harold Gunderson advises clean up and repairs to rat proof structures and surrounding areas. Farmers should use tin edging on doors, self closing devices, hardware cloth, creosote around foundations, and safe baits like peanut butter and corn meal with barium carbonate away from livestock.
