A 20,000 square foot Polo Plastics facility is under construction in Monticello. Iben Construction Co. is erecting the building in the industrial park at the northwest edge of town. Monticello Development Corp sold a two acre tract for the project in the same area.
David Leslie Bowen seventeen escaped injury when his camper pickup rolled onto its left side in a ditch on Jones county road D-62 at 6 30 p m Sunday. Patrolman Tower investigated the single vehicle incident six miles northwest of Monticello near the Walter Mueller farm. A separate two car collision northwest of Olin at 2 p m Sunday involved a 1968 Mustang driven by Robert Riches Route 1 Onslow and a 1964 Volkswagen driven by John Myers Monticello. No injuries were reported.

Orland George Rogers aged 59 died from chest injuries when a diesel tractor rolled onto him and his son Michael about 22 was injured with compound leg fractures. The accident happened on the Rogers farm four miles south of Cascade at 4 30 p.m. Tuesday. Services pending at Devaney funeral home Cascade.
Monticello Development Corporation increases public stock by 10000 dollars to fund industrial park development. The 38 acre site near Monticello, purchased from Harm G Bunting for 30000 dollars, includes a 50 by 60 foot Cuckler building and parcels sold to Quality Castings and Polo Plastics. The firm has funded loans totaling 28000 dollars to industry and reports 125 stockholders with 144 shares outstanding as of July 1, 1969.
Monticello announced a 13 member influx to its 84 person faculty for the new school year. New high school staff include Kortemeyer and Stumme former Monticello teachers. New elementary hires list Harstad Kreamer Stadtmueller Stokesberry and Miller. Administrators include Boyd Shannon John Thomas Stephen Williams Dale Greenawald and Lois Shover.
