Mrs. R D Zirtzman and her 13 year old son Donald of Hazel Green Township are in serious condition at St Luke's hospital Cedar Rapids after a crash near Gene Thompson farm south of Buck Creek. Elwood Mundy of Manchester driven car from the west caused the collision. Donald remains in semi conscious condition. Mrs Zirtzman suffered facial and head cuts plus multiple injuries. Mundy expected to be released from Monticello hospital. Both cars damaged. Zirtzman vehicle likely a total loss.

Friend Missing With $700 and 1937 Chevrolet
C C Wyrick of Cascade said a man he trusted took his 1937 Chevrolet coupe and $700 while on a trip to Monticello. Edward Bishop was hired by Wyrick around June 23 and the two became friends before the loss occurred.
