About 550 people attend a Monday evening demonstration on meat selection and prep at Monticello High School gym. Bonita Bohnsack of the National Live Stock and Meat Board leads the event with meat displays and dish prizes.
At 12 45 a.m. Saturday deputy Arnold Latuska found the northwest warehouse door pried open behind Balster's store in Scotch Grove during a routine check. He requested Monticello police chief John Cook and they searched the building with no one found and nothing reported missing.
Arthur P. O Rourke Post No 209 of the American Legion and Auxiliary will present two red maple trees to the Senior Home in Monticello at 2 p m Sunday April 27 in a ceremony. The event marks the Legion's 50th anniversary and honors local veterans past and present. The public is invited.
