The Sacred Heart Seniors present the two act comedy Tammy Tell Me True at Monticello Community High School auditorium. Performances are Friday Sunday and Monday with a Friday matinee for Sacred Heart elementary students.
Sacred Heart high school seniors present the two act comedy Tammy Tell Me True at Monticello high school auditorium with a Friday matinee for students and public performances Sunday and Monday at 8 p.m. Tickets available at the door or from senior class members. Sister Rosalyn Sullivan is the principal in charge.
Direction assigns Sister Bernice to sets and properties. Becky Hines plays Tammy and Mark Becker plays Tom Freeman. Other leads include Lynn Muller, Pete Schmidt, Steve Eilers, Jana Gilmore, Dianne Coden, Karen Fluckiger and Dennis Hageman. Brief parts are filled by remaining seniors.
Official docket shows fines for Improper parking and backing, speeding, reckless driving, excessive noise, minor beer possession, disturbing peace by squealing tires, delinquent registration, failure to yield, illegal truck parking, improper passing, expired chauffeur license, and control failures. Names and towns include Monticello, Cascade, Hopkinton, Beloit, and Beloit Wisconsin entries. Several individuals face fines from $1 to $100.
The Monticello Development Corp. sought to amend a building permit for a new Shell station with a six inch wider steel and masonry design, moving closer to the pump island. Council approved the replan while Mayor Norlin discussed county wide tornado alert units costing 150 each and a feasibility study for an underground disaster structure with potential 50 to 70 percent Federal funding.
The May June session of Jones county district court selected the petit jury. Jurors must appear at 9 30 a m May 12 with Judge William R Eads presiding. Names listed include numerous residents from Monticello and surrounding towns.
A four member Monticello delegation led by Mayor Gus Norlin met legislators in Des Moines Friday to push for a $200 000 appropriation to acquire and develop a 3500 acre Indian Bluffs Wilderness area. Rep Roy Miller coordinated the appearance before the subcommittee as critics noted lumber interests and rising land prices.
